Rita Kampalath
Chief Sustainability Officer, LA County Chief Sustainability Office
Rita Kampalath is the Chief Sustainability Officer for Los Angeles County, where she leads a team of policy experts implementing the County’s ambitious sustainability plan. Her career spans public service, environmental advocacy, scientific research, and consulting, including serving as Science and Policy Director at Heal the Bay and leading water-quality projects at Geosyntec Consultants. She holds a B.S. in chemical engineering from Columbia University, as well as an M.S. in chemical engineering and a Ph.D. in civil and environmental engineering from UCLA.
